Newton's Lab

Please give an example of how Newton's Third Law of Motion worked in your life today!
"For every action force there is an equal but opposite reaction force."

Next please go to the website listed on the handout and complete the challenge. Once you are done with the challenge please return to this site and answer the following question:    What two factors increased the trucks distance?

  1. Newtons third law would be two bumpers cars or a car crash when one hits one the one that got hit had the equal and opposite reaction from the one that made the crash in the first place.

  21. When I played Forces in action when you made the gradient when up to number 2. The truck went farther and made it to the end because gravity is pushing down on the truck more than when the gradient was at number 1 so then the gravity gives the truck extra speed at the starting.

  31. the two factors that increased the truck's distance were the gradients and friction. The gradients droped it from a farther or less length and the friction _would_ cause heat and slowed it down. (because this was just a game the friction stopped the truck no heat)

  32. The two forces that increased the truck were gradients and the friction of the truck!

    -Jordan.V

  33. Then two factors that increased the trucks distance was the gradients and slope 2 was way faster than slope 1

    ReplyDelete
  34. Slope1 and Slope2 and the parachutes changed how far the truck went.

    ReplyDelete
  42. it depends on how high the slope is and how big the parachute is

    ReplyDelete
  45. How the truck went faster was when the ramp was steeper and without a parachute.

    Lizzy B.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The truck went faster on a steeper slope because there is more gravity pulling it towards the center of the earth and the smaller parachuet has less air resistance to so the truck goes faster and with the larger parachuet it has more air resistance so it slows it down more.

  173. The 1 slope made the truck go slow. the 2 slope made the truck go slower. Sam S :)

  174. the truck with out the parachute went the farthest because the parachute slows it down because the parachute is capturing the air going at it thats why it slower then without a parachute

  175. On the first slope with the parishute you did not go far you only made it to 60, and 50. On the second slope with parishute you made it prety far like 80, 60.

  178. When I let the truck go with it on gradient 1 the truck didn't go as far as it did on gradient 2. When I let the truck go with the big parachute and on gradient 1 it only went a little over 50, and when I let the truck go with the big parachute and on gradient 2 it went to fifty. When I let the truck go with the small parachute on gradient 1 the truck went to 60 and when I let the truck go on gradient 2 with the small parachute it went a little over 80.
